Elton & Associates – Firm Overview

Winston Elton, Founder and Principal of Elton & Associates has over 35 years experience in real estate matters, and has acted as a principal, investor, developer, consultant, due diligence provider, appraiser, strategic advisor, organizational development counselor, and market research and financial feasibility analyst.  He was the Partner-in-Charge of the Real Estate Consulting Group for the international professional services firm KPMG in San Diego from 1987 to 1995, at which point he left to form Elton & Associates.  In his time with KPMG, Mr. Elton supervised an extensive staff of experienced real estate experts locally and nationwide, and oversaw a range of national and international projects – everything from large Master-Planned Communities and mixed use projects, to investment properties such as apartments, office buildings, and retail and industrial complexes.  Mr. Elton was also Partner-in-Charge of the KPMG Real Estate Appraisal Practice, with Members of the Appraisal Institute (MAIs) and Accredited Senior Appraisers (ASAs) on staff in Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, and California.  He was a California State Certified Real Estate Appraiser for twelve years, and has been an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers since 1991.

Mr. Elton has been involved in a variety of litigation assignments, and has assisted banks, insurance companies, property owners, land owners, and major developers and home builders with bankruptcy-reorganization-workout situations, investment analysis, and market and financial feasibility reports.  He has been responsible for guiding corporate and institutional strategy and planning with respect to organizational direction and efficiencies, and optimizing the highest and best use for various properties.  He has served as principal real estate expert witness in over fifty cases, and regularly performs a range of litigation support services for law firms and attorneys.
